The Department of Chemical Engineering was founded within
the Faculty of Engineering at Kasetsart University in 1989.
The department currently comprises 24 academic staff members,
6 technical staff members, and 8 administrative staff members.
We offer high-quality education and research in chemical engineering,
with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and practical engineering skills
that prepare graduates for successful professional careers. To date,
the department has produced more than 800 chemical engineers,
with more than 240 undergraduate students currently enrolled
across both regular and special programs.
The Master of Engineering program in Chemical Engineering
was launched in June 1996, followed by the Doctor of
Engineering program in June 2000. There are currently
more than 120 graduate students enrolled across all graduate programs.
Research in the department is organized into four main themes:
(1) Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology,
(2) Bio-Chemical Processes and Technologies,
(3) Sustainable Engineering and Renewable Technology,
(4) Artificial Intelligence and Simulations in Chemical Engineering.
This research has contributed to a substantial body of national and
international conference proceedings, publications, and patents.
The department also maintains regular cooperation and consultancy
with both private and government agencies, and hosts visiting professors
from overseas annually to provide students with an international academic perspective.
