This research group conducts research on biochemical processes and technologies aimed at the sustainable conversion of biomass and bioresources into energy, materials, and high-value products. The group’s expertise spans bioenergy and biorefinery systems, biomaterials and biosensors, solid-state fermentation and microbial biotechnology, and the extraction and purification of bioactive compounds. Research activities include the development of biodiesel, bioethanol, biohydrogen, bioplastics, biodegradable films, biopolymers, and functional bio-based sensors, as well as techno-economic analysis of bioprocesses to support industrial implementation. By integrating biochemical engineering, materials science, and process optimization, the group contributes to value creation from agricultural residues and renewable resources in support of sustainable industrial and bio-based economies.
